About CSIR NET Chemistry
CSIR NET is the national level examination conducted by Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) with an objective to determine the eligibility of the candidates who will be awarded with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) andNational Eligibility Test (NET) in chemical science field.
CSIR NET is a national level examination and the toughest exam. The candidates who have completed their graduation and post-graduation and belong to science stream are eligible to appear for the examination. Further candidates who have complete M.Sc or equivalent degree, B.E, B.Tech, MBBS, B.Pharma, BS – 4 years. This exam is conducted twice a year in the month of June and December.

CSIR NET Chemical Science exam – Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Chemical Science paper is divided into three parts such as Part A, Part B, and Part C. there will be total of 120 questions. The segregation of question is as mentioned below
Part A:The questions in this part is based on General Science and General Aptitude and is common for all the subjects. It carries 20 questions and the candidates need to answer 15 questions. Each correct answer consists of 2 marks with overall of 30 marks out of 200 questions
Part B: This part consists of objective type questions with total of 40 questions. The candidates need to answer 35 questions. Each correct answer carries 2 marks with overall of 70 marks. There will be a negative marking of 0.5. The questions asked in this section may range 10+2 to PG level.
Part C: Questions in this part will be based on higher science which will test your knowledge on scientific concepts and their application. It consists of 60 questions and the candidates need to answer only 25 question. Each correct answer consists of 4 marks and -1 will be deducted for wrong answer.
There is a provision of negative marking for each wrong answers. Marking will be done according to the subject wise scheme of the exam. It may sometimes happen that questions may be wrong, in case if any candidate attemptsthose question they will be benefitted and the marks will be allotted according to that question.
